Crappie Or Walleye Filets With Wild Morel Mushrooms

Crappie Or Walleye Filets With Wild Morel Mushrooms
Yield: 1 Serving

Ingredients

2 lb Fish fillets
1/3 c Sliced mushrooms
(wild mushrooms may be used)
1/2 c Chopped onion
1/4 ts Garlic powder
1/4 ts Paprika
1/4 ts Celery salt
1 ts Marjoram
1/2 ts Parsley
Salt; to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper;
- to taste
2 ts Lemon juice
1/2 c Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 c Bread crumbs
1/4 c Melted butter
2 tb Dry white wine
Fried Wild Morel Mushrooms;

Instructions

* Note: See the "Fried Wild Morel Mushrooms" recipe which is included in
this collection.

Grease a baking dish with butter. Spread the onions and mushrooms over the
bottom of the dish. Layer fillets, overlapping the thin part to prevent
overcooking. Sprinkle fillets with seasonings, wine and lemon juice.
Top with cheese and bread crumbs and drizzle butter over top. Cover with
foil and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake 5 to 10
minutes longer. Serve with Fried Wild Morel Mushrooms if available.
This recipe yields ?? servings.

Comments: There's not much better eating than fresh walleyes or crappies.
This is the time of year I like to fill my freezer with fillets. Also
every spring around turkey season, it is not uncommon after a good rain to
find an abundance of wild morel mushrooms. They are one of the delicacies
of the great outdoors.
